Coloured Vans are hard to come by

Everyone is aware of the reputation that a white van man carries, but how about a red van man? Well because of the European wide shortage of red vans, down to the credit crunch, these could soon die out.

The credit crunch is the reason for the lack of the red vans. Because of the credit crunch, the amount of van sales is declining, this has triggered a reduction in the production of coloured vans. More traditional colours like white are being produced instead, this means that companies like Eagle Couriers, a Scottish delivery firm, might have to change their fleet colours to something more classical.

It seems like an odd situation, due to the credit crunch, the manufacturers are making less coloured vans, but the coloured vans are the ones people are after but they can’t buy them because they are not being made.

If some companies choose to change the colour of their van fleet, maybe it would be for the greater good because they may pick a safer colour. This may sound a little odd, but there have been a series of studies that show that white vehicles are in the least amount of accidents. There have been a number of studies to find out which colour is the safest colour, one being a study that showed that white cars were the safest during a lightning storm. Another study found that a red fire engine is more likely to be involved in a collision rather than a white one.

Maybe we should start claiming a car insurance reduction for having a white car because it’s less likely to be in an accident.

If you are a business that requires specific colour vans, maybe you should consider van leasing? There are a huge number of different vans available for lease all in different colours, from minibus leasing to tipper van leasing, there are vans for every purpose and every requirement.
